Gulf Tides resort Longboat Key

Can anyone give us information on this resort? From the web site it looks like it may be a small building on the beach. Does anyone know how many units and are they clean? Can%26#39;t find much info on their site other than 2br, 1 br and efficiency. Wondered if the efficiencies were real small and it they are clean, on a corner -- just anything.

Thanks

Gulf Tides actually consists of two parts. The ';small building on the beach'; that you referred to is one of those two parts, and I believe there are four units in that building; you park underneath the building and walk up one floor. The setting is fantastic, right on the beach, the units in that building are good size, probably all two bedrooms. We rented there twice and enjoyed our stay immensely. I could be wrong, but I believe these are condos, owned by people who rent them out, so the furnishings probably vary from unit to unit.

The other part of Gulf Tides is a big building across the street, I think maybe 3 or 4 stories tall, with many units. (This is where the picture was taken from looking out over a pool and tennis courts to the ';small building on the beach';). We looked at one unit there one time, but were not impressed. Again, I suspect the sizes and quality vary immensely.

In terms of location, Gulf Tides is in a nice position, about one-third of the way up Longboat and quite close to a small shopping center with a grocery, bank, library, cleaners, drug store, etc.

If you%26#39;re looking for a small efficiency, there are several other places from which to choose on Longboat.

I wanted to amend my post from yesterday re Gulf Tides. I happened to drive past the place today. There are two small buildings on the beach, one with two units and the other looks to have five or six units. Across the street (where the picture was taken from) is a two-story building; it looks to have 10 to 12 units. All are described as time-share, with rentals when they are not being used.

My other comments are the same, including the fact that we totally enjoyed our stays in one of the units in the two-unit building.
