Guys Trip - Miami or Lauderdale????

Need help....Im putting together a trip for 5 single guys (in their early 30%26#39;s) and im not sure if we should go to miami or ft.lauderdale...... We all been to Miami many times, but since this may be our last group trip (some getting married soon) we wanted it to be great. I guess the main question is.... how good is the nightlife in lauderdale. I know miami is famous for their clubs.... but we dont feel like waiting 2 hours to get into these places.....with thier strict door policies. How is the single scene in lauderdale? Should we risk our last trip by going to FLL, or just deal with the lines in miami?

Lauderdale%26#39;s nightlife is good for a city its size, but it can not compare with Miami%26#39;s. There is a cluster of about 1/2 dozen clubs in the Himmarshee area of town, and a couple others scattered around town, but they%26#39;d only keep you entertained for a night -- maybe two at best. I suppose you could do another evening at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, but if driving after drinking is an issue, I%26#39;d stick with Miami, which has more walkable clubs. Here%26#39;s an idea -- how about Key West? Totally different vibe, no lines, no shoes, no worries.

Hit up Lauderdale! Head to the beach all day, right at the Intersection of a1a and las olas is where the scene is. Lots of great people watching and approachable ladies ;) Also there is Beach Place which is a 3 story outdoor ';mall'; of restraunts/bars/shops. For Dinner head to Las Olas blvd and try Big City Tavern which has a huge 30 something singles scene at the bar and moderate prices. After 10pm head down to Himmarshee Village where I reccomend Automatic Slims if you like bartenders dancing on tables or Tarpon Bend which is more laid back and conducive to meeting people. If you grow tired of the Lauderdale scene, Miami is only 30 mins away and all the great people you met might headed that way to party till the sun comes up.

Oh and I 2nd key west too. lol.

Okay I%26#39;m a girl but definitely another vote for Key West!!!!

Yep, Key West- Lots of fun. sort of like Bourbon St. New Orleans- just check the various websites first to make sure you%26#39;re not coming during some special event like Gay Pride Week or Hemmingway Days when lodging can be hard to find/expensive.

It would be the right place for you if you like hanging out in shorts and flip flops day and night- no trendy see and be seen clubs there- just lots of good old fashion bars!!

going out in lauderdale is hassle that usually invovles driving...
