The Delray beach Marriott looks like a great location, but the reviews are horrible. Anyone been there lately-sept/oct 2006 and feel differently. We%26#39;re going for thanksgiving, Thanks, michele

All I can tell is that from outside it looks stunning. I have never been inside. The Colony Hotel on Atlanticl Ave gets better reviews; see http://www.thecolonyhotel.com/florida/

Also, Boca Raton Resort and Club is awsome, but not in the central location.

We had nothing but bad experiences with the Marriott Delray. However, if you want a really good hotel - on the beach, not merely across the street from the beach - try the Holiday Inn in Highland Beach. Only about 5 miles down and on the water side of A1A, we were genuinely surprised at how good this hotel is. The intra-coastal is the front view and the ocean and private beach are the back view of the hotel. The rooms are more spacious and better appointed. Ask for the newer rooms with ocean view.

I had lunch at that Holiday Inn once, and it was good. Also, agree with previous poster: good reputation and an amazing location.

ok I have stayed at both the Colony hotel on Atlantic and the Marriott Delray. All I can say is that I had great experiences in both.

The marriott has great views,nice decor, nice pool, and is a short distance from the beach. great small pizzerria next door called Pizza Rustica! (you must go) The problems for me were this : not so close to the shops, and the front desk had this weird $100 deposit thing going on, that was pretty confusing. The rooms are not amazing, they are pretty plain, but they are good, and very clean form my experience. Parking garage is annoying.

The Colony: lovely hotel, with plenty of old-school charm, nice rooms and at extremely low prices. has great breakfast and nice performances outside. Is an Eco-conscious establishment.

Drawbacks: NO air-conditioning in the lobby area. (there is in the rooms dont worry lol) the elevators are cute but annoying because you can%26#39;t use them yourself, you have to ring for a staff member to take you on it. (its a very old elevator fromt he 20%26#39;s) The beach club is lovely with great food (pricey) BUT its kinda far,you can%26#39;t just walk to it.

btw i also recommend eating at Bostons (upstairs)
