4 hours to kill before Cruise.. Lunch???

My husband and I arrive Miami on Sunday at 10 am. We have about 4 or 5 hours to kill and would like a great Miami restaurant (near the Port area) that would be comfortable to enjoy a long lunch. We%26#39;ll have our luggage with us, so South Street may be a bit cumbersome with out bags.. Any ideas? Thanks.

Most cruise ships allow early boarding and have lunch available in the buffet. It%26#39;s a nice thought having a nice lunch and seeing a little of Miami, but dragging luggage around does not sound like all that much fun.

There is a cruise forum on this site where you might ask specific questions about boarding time for your cruise or cruisecritic.com is another site with much info for cruisers.

Another option might be renting a car at the airport. With Hertz you can drop off in downtown Miami and get a shuttle to the Port. At least that way you could store your luggage in the trunk.

The car idea is a good one as the rate for a compact for a day could be cheaper than a taxi and better to get a good view of the city... rental info is also in the above post.

Try Nemo%26#39;s. Spectacular brunch on South Beach. Our family just ate there a recent Sunday. I%26#39;m sure they can watch your bags. Enjoy!

I am from miami and take many cruises, I would definitely go straight from the airport to the port. They always start check in at around 11:00 or 12:00 the latest. Every cruise ship offers a buffet lunch. Check in takes a while so the earlier you get checked in the earlier you can enjoy the ship and visit your cabin. It is also a good time to go check out the dining room to make sure you are happy with where you are sitting for dinner. The earlier you get there the better chance you have of making changes. Bon voyage.

We have the same situation but also 2 little ones and even earlier arrival at 830A. I was thinking of having breakfast somewhere in the airport, hiring a limo service to take us to a Target/grocery store so I can pick up diapers, etc... and then going on to the port. Several folks at cruisecritic have boarded by 1130ish so I am hoping to do so.
