I spoke to my wife yesterday who is on I - Drive and her exact words were %26#39; It%26#39;s chuffing Freezing %26#39;

She had gone to American Eagle to buy some warmer clothes :-)

Cold air spreading down the Florida peninsula combined with northwest winds around 10 mph will create unseasonably cold wind chill readings across much of east central Florida after midnight. Lowest wind chill temperatures will range from around 30 degrees in north lake and inland volusia counties to the lower 30s everywhere else except indian river, saint lucie and martin counties where wind chills are forecast to be in the lower 40s.

A wind chill advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors, make sure you wear a hat and gloves.

We, in the southern U.S. had an exceptionally warm December and early January this year, with above average temps for the most part until the last week or so.

I guess we%26#39;re paying for it now.

A week or so ago in upstate NY it was 72F - highest temp for those couple days in the last 179 years (or something like that).

Currently it is 0 (F or C...your choice) with wind chills of 10 below.

70-74F with bright sunny skys today and tomorrow here (Orlando) is HEAVEN......but, alas, we%26#39;re ';paying'; for that too....stuck inside at a Convention most of the day.

Perhaps they wouldn%26#39;t miss us if we snuck out for an hour or so?

We had a warmest December on record this year. It has been very pleasant right up until a couple weeks ago when winter temps returned. Wind Chills below 0 today!

Hopefully things will warm up next month down there in the Sunshine State... on the beach shivering with teeth chattering isn%26#39;t what I pictured when I planned this trip :)

My wife insisted on lighting a fire in our fireplace late last night. I was half asleep when she made this request, so she did it (we had one of those easy light logs), but I realized the flew (sp?) was closed, and the room was filling with smoke, so she opened it, and opened the doors, and we all slept in front of the fire until about 3 am.

Mpye - you%26#39;ll be OK with just a sporran. Probably still a bit too warm for us.
