Nice place to stay near Mallory Square

This past Sept, wife and I flew into Key West for our 20 (million) year annivarsary. Stayed down on the south end at the Southermost -- which we found wonderful, just a bit off of the beaten path. We both love the party atmosphere so it%26#39;s not surprising that we want this visit to be a little different. This time the plan is to fly in to Miami the first week of March and drive down and stay at different places throughout the week and get a full fill of what the keys have to offer.

I figure at least one night in Islamorada and another half way from there, but the rest in Key West. Again, any suggestions on 1) decent place about half way down from Miami (that has a great watering hole and gret flats fishing) and 2) place to stay near Mallory that won%26#39;t break the bank. Thanks for the listening ear.

Please tell us what will not break the Bank. Mallory area is prime location most places get $250 to $500 in Sept. Pier House, Ocean Key, Hyatt.

Halfway down there%26#39;s a beautiful resort called Cheeca Lodge. All amenities, bars, dining, beaches, etc. Very nice place!

My husband and I stayed at the Cheeca Lodge en route to Key West for our first trip to the keys. It was lovely, but $400 a night! That was a very, very long time ago. Not sure if it%26#39;s any less expensive now...we had a waterfront room.

thank you for the info..i will look into it further. Really looking forward to getting back down there.
