best condo or private home rental site??

It appears much cheaper to rent a condo or home in Orlando. Any tips on the best sites to use would be great!

best condo or private home rental site??

sadj1993,

There are lots of good sites and a search through this forum will lead you to several that have been used by members here. Try some of the following:

best condo or private home rental site??

I have just booked directly with an owner at Winsor Hills. THis has been very easy and it seems that everybody on TA does not have a bad word to say about the place.

If you post your enquiry via www.windsorhillrent.com all the owners with availability will send you a reply.

I had over 50 private condo, townhouses and villa to choos from.

Once we have been will post a report oin TA but the place is half as good as everybody sayes we will have a fab time.

Ok new forum worker what%26#39;s the difference between a condo and a villa. Dont laugh someone had to tell you once apon a time. thanx for any help xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

thanks shelley 55 and nickybity. those sites are very helpful.

Not ';NFW'; but maybe this will help some.

Like you, we felt somewhat adrift in the big sea of vacation lodging options available in the Orlando area. Compound the problem by introducing all the ';jargon'; and something of a language barrier between the two versions of ';English'; which prevail and it%26#39;s ';throw your hands up'; time.

First, the simple answer to your question.

A ';villa'; is (generally) a stand alone, single family residence which could very well be a year-round permanent residence. Often times located in ';communities'; or developments of similar homes, many (most?) would have private, heated pools and spas (whirlpools). Some of the communities are located on golf courses (temporary membership might or might not be included), some might have community pools/spas and/or clubhouses with restaurants and bars.

A ';condo'; is (again, generally), short for condominium which is typically a multi-story building(s) with any number of apartment-like residences, each of which is individually owned. Don%26#39;t take the term ';apartment-like'; to be disparaging - they can run the gambit from ';modest'; to ';extravagant';. Most (in the Orlando area) are relatively new construction, in self-contained ';communities'; with any number of amenities (pools, exercise rooms, restaurants, etc) available for the residents.

';Townhouse'; is a similar term you%26#39;re likely to come upon as well in your search. Typically these are ';low-rise'; buildings with two or more, two story individual dwellings.

The words ';generally'; and ';typically'; need to be taken with a VERY large grain of salt as there is no legal definition of the terms ';villa';, ';condo';, etc.....let alone even a generally accepted understanding. One can call his/her ';resort home'; a ';villa'; if he decides to - despite the fact that it was just delivered yesterday and the wheels removed only this morning. %26lt;g%26gt; Remember, you are looking at ';ads'; and while most owners really do try to provide honest descriptions of the properties, a slight change in camera angle can often portray an entirely different image.

That%26#39;s not to scare you away from the concept of private rentals though - quite the opposite. I would encourage you to at least investigate the option and suggest that, for us at least, it%26#39;s the ONLY way to go.

The number of properties available for rent in the Orlando area is truly overwhelming. They range all the way from studio type apartments to 6-8 (or more) bedroom (with 2 Master ';EnSuites'; (those are really fancy commodes %26lt;g%26gt;) and 4 other just plain baths and an ';in-law'; apartment. Locations dot the map in virtually every direction surrounding Disney. Look here for a pretty good map of the most popular communities.

In addition to the sites already offered I%26#39;d add www.vrbo.com and www.onlinefloridavillas.com as two of my favorites.

A simple Google search or just reading through posts here or on those two sites will yield scores of additional sites. Some better than others both in ease of use and volume of traffic.

Owner rentals are available virtually everywhere as you%26#39;ll see on vrbo but much more popular in some areas than others - none is better than the Orlando area though from the prospective renters perspective. Since the first time my partner and I realized that we could rent a 4 bedroom villa, on a golf course, with pool, spa, internet access, 42'; plasma TV, 20 mins from WDW for 1/2 the cost of two hotel rooms at the convention hotel we were sold. Never mind having two extra bedrooms, full cooking facilities, privacy and a beautiful setting, nobody running up and down halls or jumping on the floor above.....only problem is we never want to leave!!

Explore a few different sites and find those that match the way you like to work best.

Thank you very much Dean, Have a nice day xx

Another site to check out is vrbo.com This site has vacation rentals around the world. I recently booked a stay at Windsor Hills and got a great price! You can select Florida, then Kissimmee and have it divide the rentals by communities - this was the most helpful for me.

Hey hav a look at www.freewebs.com/caldwellflorida its got details about a villa available for rent in kissimmee hope you enjoy
