weather & crowds-Oct/Jan

Hi,

Thinking of either mid oct or beginning of jan.

Would like it to be hot enough to sunbathe by pool, but not too busy.

Which is best?

prolly mid october for the weather and you may get a better hotel rate, but hurricane season can be very unpredictable

having said mid oct, it was 42掳f this morning and they say it will be 80掳f this weekend.....january...could be 35-40 could be 60-80

Hello Daisy,

For sunbathing, definitely October however it is still hurricane season whereas January maybe cooler you don%26#39;t have to worry about that! However the temps are in the low 70%26#39;s and can go lower than that as Orlando%26#39;s winters are unpredictable. As far as crowd levels are concerned the 2nd week of January through the 1st week of February is considered low season as the children are back in school so it%26#39;s a great time to go. The first week of January you still have the lingering crowds from Christmas week.

healin...there you are!

you got mail!

Thanks.

May be I need to be a little more flexible on my dates!

Would prefer to avoid very busy times but would def like to be able to sunbathe by pool. When is hurricane season?

What time of year do you suggest?

October is still warm, sometimes hot (certainly if you are from the UK!).

If you don%26#39;t want busy, avoid school holidays, national holidays, Easter and Christmas. Remember half terms as well - October can include halfterms. From experience I%26#39;ve found mid September to be quiet, and late Jan but there will be other times too. In spring, watch out for the Spring Break kids descending on the parks and resorts.

Having been a few times including Sep and Oct, any of those times have been OK although Oct maybe slightly busier when we went because of school holidays. Both still within hurricane season which is theoretically June to November. Climate still pretty hot though starting to cool a little more end October.

Would definately avoid Easter (crowds), and mid Jun thru August as the heat can become too much for us lowly pale skinned sun seekers.

Didn%26#39;t enjoy Jan so much as it was fairly cool and unpredictable for much of the time, though can still be warm (but watch out for those chilly nights).

Daisy - mid oct for sure!!! Jan is like a box of chocs.......you could get 60 or 75 degrees!!!

By the way, hurricane season technically runs from June 1st to Nov. 30th, but the bulk of them occur in August, Sept., and October.

when i was there 1st 2 weeks of october it was really hot, 90%26#39;s everyday, the 1st week was quiet but the 2nd week was really crowded, loads of kids in groups so i think there must have been a local school holiday. we are trying last 2 weeks of september this year as i%26#39;ve been told its quiet then. we got caught in a hurricane in august 3 years ago but it didnt ruin our holiday
