Vacation help needed for late April/early May!!

My wife and I are planning our annual spring vacation. Every year we have traveled somewhere in the Caribbean, but we are wanting to stay in the states because we are currently 3 months pregnant. We are having a tough time figuring our where to go during late April or early May. We want sun, spa, golf (for me!), nice beach, and just a relaxing time for a week. This will be our first child so it will just be the 2 of us traveling. California? Florida? Any help would be appreciated!!

Vacation help needed for late April/early May!!

San Diego is a good choice. Lots to do in the area, but the beach part can be iffy. The Pacific is kind of cold. Same for my other favorite place, Santa Barbara. If the beach isn%26#39;t that important, there is no more beautiful spot in CA than the Monterey Peninsula. Absolutely awesome and you can wallow in the joys of Carmel.

FL has lots of excellent choices depending on how much nite life you want. Naples and Marco Island have large traditional resorts and if the golf isn%26#39;t directly there, it sure is close. Marco Island Marriott is in the final stages of a huge makeover and has a fantasy pool that looks really nice. There are two Ritz Carlton%26#39;s one on the beach and the nicer one just inland with a golf course. Lots of other places.

In Bonita Springs there%26#39;s a Hyatt that is not directly on the beach but has shuttle service. Views over the %26#39;mangrove coast%26#39; area. Easy shot to one of my favorite places, Lover%26#39;s Key State Park, just south of Estero Island. Longboat Key also has nice resorts on the beach, Longboat Key Club and the Hilton. Ask about them on Sarasota forum.

South Seas resort doesn%26#39;t have a spa yet [they%26#39;re putting in a Golden Door spa] so that won%26#39;t work and the spa amenities elsewhere are limited on Sanibel and Captiva. There is a day spa on Sanibel and the Sundial Resort and Casa Ybel Resort advertise spa services, but not big name stuff.

But for nite life, you want the east coast. That is not my stamping grounds so someone else will have to help there.

South FL will be warmer in late April and Early May than up north FL.
