Visiting Univ of Fla

A lot of colleges have “towns”, meaning a central location where students go (bars, restaurants, stores, etc). Does U of F have such a main drag and if so, what is the name of the road and where should I park

Visiting Univ of Fla

There are a few places in G%26#39;ville to do these things. There is downtown, and what is now called midtown. Midtown is across from the campus, on University Ave, close to NW 17th Street. There are multiple bars, restaurants, and shops (mostly Gator stuff). Parking here is tricky, depending on when you go. You can pay to park in a church parking lot near the intersection (Just North and West) of NW 17th St and University Ave. Parking is strictly enforced around campus, so be careful!

Downtown is on University, more East (Univ Ave and Main St is close to the center). You can park on the street around there, or in parking garages near Union Street Station (resturants and shopping here also). There are many bars down here, too. Some places require certain attire, so call or check out their websites to be sure.

If you are looking for something in particular, just ask someone on the street. People are generally very friendly here!
